The Annual Edwin W. Stedman scholarship
application is now available. Packets must be completed
and received by August 31, 2010. The selection committee
will review all applications and interview final candidates
through the end of September 2010. Applicants should be
prepared to interview with the Selection Committee if
named as a finalist. Every applicant will be notified
by the end of September of the award decision.

Congratulations to our own Life Member,
past IAHSS President, and current IHSSF President Edwin
Stedman for being presented the Distinguished Lifeworks
award by the IHSSF at the 2010 IAHSS Annual General Meeting
in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Congratualtions to our friends and colleagues of the
Connecticut IAHSS Chapter for being awarded this year's
Chapter of Distinction and to the New Hampshire Veterans
Home in Tilton, New Hampshire for receiving the Lindberg
Bell Program of Distinction award at the 2010 IAHSS Annual
General Meeting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

At the April Boston Chapter meeting at Winchester Hospital,
the Chapter decided to follow the IAHSS by-laws and begin
the terms of Chapter Officers at the beginning of the
calendar year, as opposed to the June-June term that the
Chapter has traditionally used. Elections for Chapter
Officers will take place later in the calendar year 2010,
date to be determined, and the officer positions will
turn over at the December Boston Chapter Holiday Dinner
Meeting.

scholarship award winners that were announced at the meeting.

The Chapter would like to announce that David Corbin,
Director of Police, Security, Safety & Parking at
Faulkner Hospital in Boston has been appointed by the
Chapter Officers as the Education Chair for the Chapter.
David will be working with the Chapter Officers and other
members of the chapter to improve upon the many great
education and training opportunities that the chapter
has provided to it's members and organizations since the
inception of the IAHSS Boston Chapter. The Chapter Officers
and members would like to thank Michael Tabeek (CHPA),
Director of Safety & Security, St. Elizabeth's Medical
Center, Boston for serving 16 successful years as the
Education Chair.
